Meet The Author—Jerome T. White
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Jerome T. White developed an interest in art as a child. He later studied art at Tuskegee University, in Alabama, Baldwin-Wallace College, Cleveland Institute of Art, and Case Western Reserve University.
Jerome teaches at his alma mater, Cleveland Heights High School, where he has been teaching since 1997. In addition, he has initiated mural projects in the inner city where youth help to beautify their neighborhoods and has been a visual arts instructor for Mural My Neighborhood, a visual arts-based, youth-oriented program committed to increasing community awareness of the Arts.
Along with teaching, Jerome has pursued a career as a fine artist. Themes of music, sports, family, history, and the human condition have been the focal points of much of his work.
The Red Tail Dreamer is a tribute to White’s late grandfather and the accomplishments of the Tuskegee Airmen. “It’s a tribute to dreaming and chasing those dreams and a gift to future generations of students and dreamers.” Jerome T. White.
