The adventures of three escaped convicts (George Clooney, John Turturro and Tim Blake Nelson) are loosely based on Homer’s The Odyssey. Clooney, as Ulysses McGill, encounters many of Homer’s original characters, such as Cyclops, the Sirens and eventually his wife Penelope (Holly Hunter). The Coen Brothers and music producer T Bone Burnett used period-specific folk music as a major component of this Grammy winning film. Terry Meehan introduces each film with an original video followed by audience reaction and a lively discussion.
