Film- Ruby Gentry

Ruby (Jennifer Jones) is a poor Southern girl who hopes to marry a rich man. Her boyfriend, Boake (Charlton Heston), abandons her for a more suitable bride so she marries the wealthy businessman Jim Gentry (Karl Malden) out of spite. Gentry dies in a suspicious accident and the town accuses Ruby who then uses her late husband’s fortune to finally get who and what she wants, including revenge.
