Friends of Lakewood Public Library
The Friends of Lakewood Public Library are a group of volunteers who raise funds for library programs and services, primarily through seasonal sales of donated books and other materials. With reduced prices on books, magazines, compact discs and DVDs, the sales are a bargain hunter’s dream.
Booksale Hours
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
First Saturday of the month
9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Sale proceeds support Lakewood Public Library’s programming, including free lectures, concerts, films, youth programs and the library van, which delivers books to classrooms and homebound readers.
The Friends also participate in community outreach programs to organizations that support worthy causes such as early childhood literacy and healthy lifestyles for children.
For a nominal amount, citizens can join the Friends and gain admission to preview book sales, which preceded sales to the general public.
The Friends also sell books online to increase revenue. Visit our Friendly Online Bookstore.
Support the Friends by donating materials, volunteering, shopping at the next sale, or attending a concert.
