Interlibrary Loan
Lakewood Public Library has built its world class collection on the strength of our patrons’ requests for books, magazines, films and music.
If you’re looking for something that we don’t have, you are encouraged to make a request by phone, in person at either the Main Library or the Madison Branch, or by submitting your request online using the form below. If we are unable to acquire it for our own collection we will try to borrow it from another library through Interlibrary Loan.
Interlibrary Loan is a cooperative service with roots that stretch back over a hundred years. By cooperating and collaborating with other libraries, we are able to provide our patrons with the world’s treasures even as we save taxpayers the expense.
Since 1973, Lakewood Public Library has been a member of OCLC, a pioneering computerized resource-sharing system of some 26,000 institutions in 170 countries. (In fact, we were the first library in Cuyahoga County to join.) This Ohio born organization has transformed the ways public libraries share materials all over the world. We are also proud to contribute to OCLC WorldCat, the world’s largest network of library content and services.
Patrons are welcome to search the OCLC WorldCat catalog. Let us know if you find something that you would like to request by calling (216) 226-8275, ext.110.
