Teacher Services

In partnership with Lakewood schools, the Library is committed to promoting educational excellence and providing a variety of services to students and teachers to help meet their needs throughout the year.  Services include programs that Library staff facilitate in the classroom.

Teacher Library Card

A teacher library card is available to licensed educators who teach at a preschool, primary school, middle school, or high school, and reside or teach in Lakewood. A teacher library card allows an educator to borrow up to 100 items at a time, all with a four-week loan period and to use the teacher loan courier service.  An application for a teacher card may be picked up at the Main Library, Madison Branch, or download an application here.

Teachers who teach or reside in Lakewood may have classroom materials delivered to their Lakewood school or Lakewood home. Thursday afternoon delivery or pick-up requests may be made by calling (216) 226-8275, ext. 140 or online.

Delivery/Pickup Request Form

  • Deliveries and pickups happen every Thursday.
  • You must live in Lakewood or teach at a school or daycare in Lakewood.
  • Your Lakewood Public Library card must have “Teacher” status and be in good standing at time of delivery.
  • There is a 10-item minimum for deliveries.
  • Requests must be placed by 5:00pm Monday to be sent out by Thursday
  • When you are ready to return your books, please schedule a pickup using this form.

Teacher Pull Form

  • Teacher Loans may be picked up any time during regular Library hours.
  • Request Teacher Loans using this form.
  • Please allow us a minimum of 48 hours to select your materials.
  • Simply return your books when you are finished with them.  Book-return boxes at the Main Library and Madison Branch are available 24 hours a day.

Class Packs of Books

Class packs consist of 15 to 20 copies of a title, an audio book if available, a study guide if afailavle, and any directly related nonfiction books if available. All are packaged in a plastic container which includes a sheet for assigning books to students. Check the list of availalbe titles here.
