Public Computer Stations
Public computers are available at both the Main Library and the Madison Branch for patrons who need to conduct online research, make use of office-style programs or simply keep in touch with the rest of the world. Reservations can be made in-person with a Lakewood Public Library card in good standing and the patron’s PIN. Using a computer under another person's name is not permitted.
The Library also provides robust wireless Internet access throughout both buildings for patrons with Wi-Fi compatible equipment.
Extended Hours for Students and Job Seekers
The Main Library offers extended computer time to job seekers, students, distance learners and those who need to fill out long government forms. Learn more at the Main Library’s Technology Center.
The Library offers personal one-on-one attention to answer your computer questions. Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and Thursdays between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the Main Library Learning Lab. Reservations are available up to one month before the appointment. When registering, we'll need to know the specific area where you need help. Reservations can be made by calling (216) 226-8275, ext. 127. Tech Tutors are also available at the Madison Branch. Call (216) 228-7428.
Ancestry Library Edition
The Ancestry genealogy resource is free to use every day at the Library. Access Ancestry Library Edition from the Library's website under Research.
How far back would you like to trace your family tree? Genealogist Deborah Abbott will show you how to unlock the secrets held by census reports, military records, birth certificates and death notices in this hands-on workshop. Call (216) 226-8275, ext. 127 to register.

One-on-One Job Search
Spend a half hour with an instructor polishing your resume, brushing up on computer skills and exploring resources. Appointments are available Tuesdays between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and Thursdays between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
