Lakewood Public Cinema Documentary- Before Stonewall (1984)
Directed by Greta Schiller and Robert Rosenberg
Presented by Tom Stebel
The Stonewall Inn in New York City is considered by many to be the birthplace of the gay rights movement. It was at this location fifty-five years ago that members of the LGBTQ community stood up for their rights against police oppression. Through personal interviews and archival footage, this documentary reveals the history of the LGBTQ community prior to the Stonewall riots. Presented by Tom Stebel from the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland.
