Concert - Mary Beth Ions

Professional violinist Mary Beth Ions will take you on a journey through the ages from Bach to Broadway, from country fiddle tunes to fiery Gypsy music, even the use of the violin in the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and for American Idols! Her compelling story-telling inspires awe of the violin, its history, and how this queen of instruments has developed through the centuries into the shining star it is today. Ions is one of Northeast Ohio's most active musicians, she plays in the Cleveland Pops Orchestra and at Playhouse Square for the Broadway Series. She is an active freelancer with plenty of interesting and fun tales from Cleveland's "musical trenches." You'll hear the voice of the violin up close and personal and experience the variety of beautiful sounds it produces and emotions it evokes!
