Author Event - Imagine a Forest: Designs and Inspirations for Enchanting Folk Art Book by Dinara Mirtalipova

The magical folklore of Uzbekistan and Russia has always influenced author, illustrator and folklorist Dinara Mirtalipova’s work. The author, illustrator and folklorist was born and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and studied Computer Science at the Tashkent State University of Economics. However, her true passion was always patterns and illustrations. Her book Imagine a Forest is a drawing and design guide based on her own years of creative work. Mirtalipova previously worked at American Greetings before beginning her career as an independent designer. Currently she works from her home studio in Sagamore Hills, OH. Raised in Soviet Uzbek culture, Dinara inhabited Uzbek/Russian folklore that still influences her work. She uses a wide range of materials and tools, including lino blocks, gouache and acrylics. Mirtalipova has had the opportunity to collaborate with many great brands, publishing companies and ad agencies, including Radio Flyer, Godiva, and Scholastic. Books will be available for sale and signing at the event.
