A Race Anthology: Dispatches and Artifacts from a Segregated City Edited by Dan Moulthrop and RA Washington
A collaboration between City Club of Cleveland and Guide to Kulcher Press, A Race Anthology gathers “dispatches” from our region and across the nation to discuss the history and the current manifestations of segregation in Cleveland. This Anthology combines essays, comics, and poetry with transcripts from The City Club’s tremendous archives to give a glimpse into a dynamic that affects us all. Editors Dan Moulthrop (City Club Cleveland), and RA Washington (Guide to Kulchur will join us for an evening of discussion of the works in the anthology, the inspiration for creating it and the process that lead to the collaboration of one of our cities most revered institutions and the hub of our cities creative minds. Moulthrop is CEO at The City Club of Cleveland, the nation’s oldest continuously running free speech forum. He's an award winning local public radio host, a former high school teacher and a graduate of UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism. He lives in Shaker Heights, Ohio, with his wife and three children. In addition to being the author of several well-recived novels and books of poetry, RA Washington runs the bookstore and collaborative space, Guide to Kulcher. Books will be available for sale and signing at the event.
