Scene Magazine: Best Library
In 2003, Cleveland Scene named Lakewood Public Library the Best Library noting that "for true bibliophiles, there isn't a better place to get a fix than within these stacks... There's a sprawling nonfiction section, a mammoth children's room, and plentiful alcoves that give sanctuary to reading introverts. The librarian's picks almost always hit the spot. And if it all seems overwhelming, seek out the reference desk, staffed by kind-hearted oracles who know the answer to your question before you ask it." We were also singled out by Scene in 2000, 2007, 2009 and 2012 for our Friends Book Sales, our top-notch children's area, our movie nights and our friendly, open atmosphere. Best of all, they namechecked us in 2011 when they declared Lakewood to be Cleveland's Best Suburb.
Cleveland Magazine: Best Children's Section at a Library
In the October 2003 issue of Cleveland Magazine, Lakewood Public Library was named as the library with the Best Children's Section. "The children's department is one of the biggest reasons the library is currently ranked No. 1."
